On December, 31 of every comes the time when many ask themselves what highlights the year has brought. It is actually impossible to remember all the good things on that day. Moreover, to evaluate all these in a single day of the year makes us feel sad rather than happy because the assessment puts things in an order and in a time sequence. With such a process, we determine how fast a year passes. That is where we get the feeling of melancholy.
But let’s be honest: every day of the year has something great to offer. In essence, the year consists of 365 days, each of which has or has had something good to offer.
Of course, there are days when the world looks gray and cloudy, days when a partner left you, days when you had an argument with your wife or days when the tax authorities made a juicy demand. Yet: if you sit down in the evening and deliberately go through everything that happened that day, then you realize something was good about the day. For example, the first ray of sunshine in spring, which has warmed you up from within, or the smile of your baby in the morning.
This is precisely the goal of a success storybook: the reflection of the day and the struggle with oneself. It is about the questions: “what gave me strength?” “Where did I experience a sense of joy?” Or “what was particularly beautiful about that day?” Often, it is just these little things as mentioned above. The entries in this success storybook do not have to be page-long or contain several phrases. A sentence or a few keywords is enough. It just has to be done regularly.
Only when you pick up the book and read it on a particularly gray day, then it becomes astonishingly clear what good things life has brought every day. It also quickly becomes clear to you what has given you strength. This serves as a guide to pay more attention to these things, the things that determine personal success.
