The editors of the magazine “Shaping the future — the magazine for Entrepreneurs and Managers” approached us and wanted to learn more about LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® method. They learnt about the method at one of our info evenings and became curious. So they attended a workshop with us and looked at the results and the outcomes more closely.
The result was an interesting and, as we believe, an entertaining article about how workshops, meetings and events can be made innovative and interesting. It was particularly interesting to them that everyone has to engage in a workshop using the LEGO SERIOUS PLAY method. At the same time, they were thrilled about the great practicality with which this kind of meetings took place. This enabled very structured and clear results to be obtained in a short time. Since the LEGO Serious Play method is not the main focus of the game — the playful nature only serves as the medium — the combination of hand and brain creates unexpected models that stimulate creativity and encourage exceptional solutions.
The LEGO SERIOUS PLAY method was developed by LEGO itself to question traditional methods of management and methods of strategy development. Kirk Kristiansen, the owner of the company, was disappointed with the traditional approaches and decided to look for new solutions together with the IMD in Lausanne. This resulted in a new method that has made LEGO the most successful toy manufacturer in the world through a combination of organizational development, strategy development, and learning and development theory.
